Apparently if you wait long enough, the dash informs you the key FOB battery needs to be replaced. So, that's what I did today...

Bulb-out errors? Where did you source them? Been wondering if I can get a good set for the wagen brake/tail.

No bulb errors, only issue I had was the pin connections needed to be lined up better when I got them. I got the Racing Dash Lights from http://www.pyspeed.com I don't currently see them on their site right now though.

Mine's been doing this for awhile now. What number battery does it take? Isn't there a DYI on how to crack open the fob without breaking it?

When my mom was getting her new car i just asked the dealer to change it. Free battery is always better than not free

Changing the battery on the mk6 key is incredibly easy. Open the blade, and look at the back of the key where the vw logo is. The bottom part without the logo will pop off if you stick your thumb in the indent where the key sits.

The number I replaced mine with is the Energizer CR2032 3 volts.

Be careful with the pyspeed because they will create blue lines on the ground, you can see them in the photo..

These are bright - we have a less brighter / error free version coming out but most people prefer the full new housing.
