Hey Achilles, quick question -- what does the NoName mean? I'm not very well versed in factory VW stereos.

The RCD 330 came in two variants NoName and Desay. It's a oem radio for the Chinese market . But has android auto and apple carplay support.

The NoName version has apple carplay and android auto support. Desay variant only car play support . I used in with android auto so that's why I originally bought the NoName variant.

Here is a good review of the rcd330, but he is incorrect about the AM working . I believe that the rcd330 doesn't have the amplifier needed for NA AM bands. Just incase you need AM Radio. It never worked for me

Achilles, thanks for all the info. Looks like it would be a nice upgrade for me, but lack of AM is kind of a deal killer for an old fart like me. I listen to AM and songs from my phone about 50/50 time. Have never had Sirius or anything, and not really any interest for it so not sure if it's Sirius capable, but still, don't think that would really substitute for AM for me.

do you know if the 330 works with aftermarket amp & sub connected? My assumption is yes but 330 doesn't even work with dynaudio

I had base speakers on my gti , it seems that for some the rcd330 works with Dynaudio.
Regarding the aftermarket set up it should work based on this reddit post.
