Reeled that one in like a largemouth bass!

Nice run... what does stage 2 K04 include? (stage 2 tune w/k04?) I haven't heard of that setup before.

GreyGti1990 04-11-2017 08:53 AM

Yea, do you mean k03 stage 2? Cause a 13.6 would make sense with that

Sorry didn't put the specs:

mk6:
Stage 2 APR tune
APR Cabronio intake
APR custom downpipe (planning to get regular APR downpipes install)
APR OEM K04 Turbo

WRX:
Stage 2 COBB tune
COBB Intake
COBB Downpipe

For the k04, you really only need a downpipes and the turbo. The intercooler is recommended for multiple runs/high climate weather.

Keeping the mk6 a sleeper temporarily until next year for an exhaust upgrade.

So you are still on Stage 2 tune with K04 turbo? why not get it tuned for K04?

K04 turbo...but not tuned for K04 apparently...

Running a K04 with a K03 map makes my nose bleed.

damagi123 04-11-2017 04:12 PM

hes probably just saying it wrong. Or keep in mind some tuners call k04 still stg2 til it gets to a bigger turbo

fast2ghl 04-11-2017 09:17 PM

Hes prob meaning K04 Stage 2+ (Uni calls it Stage 2 + as well) some tuners in Europe call it Stage 3. He's trapping 106mph which seems kinda low but hes not fully bolted yet. I trap about 114mph in the 1/4 with my k04 setup with every bolton you can do. Not cutom tuned yet and no meth. After those two things I imagine the trap speed will rise to around 119-120.

The mods versus the slips don't add up.

A K03, downpipe, and APR Stage 2 tune could run between 13.4-13.8 with a similar trap speed (minus p zeros of course.) Hell my buddies Cobb Stage 2 Bugeye with just a downpipe ran a 13.3 on the TD04 back in 02 and we ran 13.4-13.6 all night long. Several years later, my other buddy picked up an 09 WRX and ran a 13.4 bone stock.

I dunno, something seems fishy!

Maybe he did mean stage2 tune on k04 turbo. Still should drive, prolly just wonky and doesn't fully utilize the k04 capability
