Jaber's CW GTI DE & TR GLI

Greetings,

Just your typical CW GTI. This was my first none american car purchase. I looked at Focus ST and MS3. I was determined to get a hatchback, as I love how much use you can get out of them. I couldn't get over the interior/exterior of the MS3, despite more power/fun factor. FoST, interior/exterior wasn't grabbing my attention, like the MS3. I could of lived with the FoST, but the DSG won me over. I tend to drive mostly city, so the DSG was more in my favor.

In our garage, we have a 2013 VW Jetta GLI - Tornado Red and 2013 VW GTI Drivers Edition - Candy White. After getting my GTI, my wife loved it. To the point where she hinted on trading in her 2012 Jeep Liberty Jet Edition. After looking for GTI's in our price range and test driving cars at the dealer. She ended up picking the GLI. So on the same month, we had brand new cars and got rid of our Jeeps.

The GLI for the most part is going to remain stock, only has 35% tint (legal limit). It will be getting a dedicated winter tire setup, maybe slight drop in the future.

That's all for now.

GTI should be getting a complete exterior detail soon. To also get rid of rail dust. I'll post some pics of the GLI eventually, when I take pics after a wash.

I like that look with the R8 coil packs exposed.

is there noticeable engine noise with the plastic covers off?

Not that I noticed. I ended up putting it back, just for the sake of not losing it in the garage and to keep things a bit cleaner under there lol...

sub'd for updates. I'm going to start one of these as well for documentation.

Jaber 05-05-2014 03:55 PM

Took some pics of the GLI yesterday, hoping to put them up tonight :D

At first Tornado Red was "ok". But every time I wash it and look at it. Really liking the color more and more.

doo it... I'm very interested to know everything you've done aside from what we've already talked about.

Some pictures of the GLI. The lighting was very random, due to overcast one minute, then super sunny the next.

Looks good^..wait till you get an intake..car sounds amazing in parking garages. Love the lower front lip on the GLI..would be interested in seeing red color matched front stripes and gloss black front/rear emblems with red inserts.

Other options...license plates OFFDUTY

Update:

GLI and GTI got debadged. GLI got an APR Carbonio STG 1 intake. And I learned the GLI is CBFA. Thanks to Renner for supplying breather filter last minute.

GTI is still pending Unitronic Intake :(

There's talks with my wife on possibly getting the GLI tuned by next year. She has the mod bug now too.
