It would sound better...but you will need to adapt it to fit the muffler. May require an extra adapter or clamps, local muffler shop could make it work.

Crutchfield is a great source to figure out what works. Even if you don't buy from them, they can tell you what fits. Previous owner replaced the speakers in my GTI, stock locations and no issues.

You can block off half the radiator by sliding a piece of cardboard in there. I've had to do that in extreme cold. Easily reversible in warm weather.

I don't see anything in your mods that aren't street legal. I also wouldn't bother parting out. You can expect pricing of a similar stock car, but the mods don't lower the value. K04 is a big plus...

Looks like a good list. My only recommendations would be front control arm bushings (S3 or Whiteline), a subframe mount (HPA or VWR), sway bars and maybe some sport springs, in that order.
