Caleb,

Your car looks great!!! WOW!!! I think you've answered a lot of questions about the Black Smoke hahaha. Thanks for the pictures.

Pop out those reflectors and wrap them in matte black or gloss black vinyl... finishing touch to the rear!

I have an incoming blue graphite pearl golf and am unsure as to the colour of these tails that would look best.

The reason the picture looks like that is because from that angle (+ the camera settings for the picture) it captures the light of the leds bouncing around in the housing...which basically means his camera is awesome and is able to pick up that reflected light. The inside of the tail lights are very clean from the pictures I've seen...maybe moisture got into your tail light causing that cloudiness??

lol thanks, yeah I ordered the camera with extra awesome included :p

It's a 2,5 second exposure which tends to blur light & reflections as NYCSuits said. The lenses themselves are crisp and clean. There is no cloudiness or water vapor in or on these lights at all and I put them through a car wash yesterday.

Here is another pic I took 5 mins after that one with a faster shutter speed:

What I presume he meant is the hazing inside the lights - not necessarily the picture. From that kind of angle(s), in person, the light in the housing lens does look hazey and cloudy - in my lights too anyway.
Does make them look a bit dodgy but not gonna let it bother me.

Glad I could help! Personally I think all of the choices look good on TR so you can't go wrong in my book.

I believe most LED lights do this due to the light reflection and the light diffusing through the lens. A standard incandescent bulb produces 200-300 lumens from a 16W bulb. (1) 4W LED emits about 450 lumens, then multiply by 12 (for your outer) and the light being diffused is a lot more intense.
Normally you wouldn't notice this if it was a clear lens, yet Red is used because red light does not cause the eye to dilate like white light and the way it diffuses light. Therefore why its not just Red LED's in a clear lens.

Also, you see the outline of lights on the lens because LED's are a focused, directional light compared to incandescent. Take a light bulb in the middle of a room and it will light almost 360 degree, an LED will only light in the direction it is pointed at. Therefore you get the beam through the lens in the same pattern as LED placement in the housing.

Hope that makes sense.

Mine do this as well but only when looking at the light from a sharp angle .. When behind the car they are very crisp

Looking really nice! Are you around Jersey City? Where do you get your car wash? I either do it myself or call my detail guy.
