I honestly wish there was such a thing as a TDR. I would totally buy it in a heart beat. Great power, gas mileage, and looks! I mean it is almost impossible to get have 3 in one car and volkswagen has ALL the tools possible to make it happen. In fact, I bet it would sell better then the GTI!

I agree that a TDR would be a nice car that could compete with Golf R, but it would most likely not sell more then a Golf R. It's the same thing with the GTI and GTD. The GTI sells more. People who buy a Golf R don't care about gas milage. It's not the primary concern. The performance, handling, how the engine sounds and being able to rev it to 6,5k is more important to the majority of Golf R customers. This does not mean there is no place for a TDR, but I don't think it would sell more then the GTI and R.

btw DaSilva. I sent you a PM regarding the "Das Auto" sign. :)

Because in Norway we get raped by the car taxes on hp and weight making the R20 twice as expensive as the GTD. :(

That's true. The base prices are:

GTD: 382,410 kroner or $ 64,386
R: 693,990 kroner or $ 116,865

So think twice before you Americans start to bitch about not wanting to pay $ 35k for a Golf R

How much did the Golf R front bumper cost you?

Well every single piece on this car is OEM and bought directly form
VW AG in germany of course through the VW Norway... so no fakes.
Front in total costs about: $3.000

Is that Golf R20 front bumper made out of ABS, urethane, fiberglass or something else?

hmmm, good question but it's OEM so it's ABS.

Very tasteful!

Bought from VW Norway/VW AG Germany

Love watching the build of this GTD!
I do prefer the Goal wheels to the others though. Plus the Goals are fairly lightweight...
Any performance modifications?

:w00t: We are wheel whores stay tuned ;) ....
No preformance just yet... let's se how it goes...
I've discussed this with the owner but you know.. now the car has warrenty.
here we try some Lorinser wheels on and they where actually shipped
from the US about 4-5 of weeks ago. ^^

And now to the latest update, this was fitted yesterday
OEM R headlamps (taken with Iphone bad pics, new pics later on...)

As you can see from my signature, I drive a TDI. Been researching performance mods for a while and there's not much out there in terms of SIMPLE bolt-ons.
Here's what I've found so far: Pipercross Performance Airfilter, Revo ECU tune, BFI torque arm insert, BFI Stage I motor mount, BFI Stage I transmission mount.
BFI said that you could use the Stage II mounts, but that the engine vibration would be reallly bad for a daily driver.
Any other ideas?

Nice build so far bud; very well done! I'd kill to get a GTD over here; power and mileage in one package :D
