If I go with Progressive's "recommended" package they quoted me $65 a month, but it is a lot lower coverage than I have. I pay $84 a month for the following:

Bodily Liability: 300k each person 500k each occurrence
Property Liability: 300k each occurrence
Medical Expense: 10k each person
Comprehensive Deductible: $500
Collision Deductible: $500
Emergency Road Service
Uninsured Motorists: 300k each person / 500k each accident

Not really sure if I have "enough" coverage, or too much. Wouldn't mind dropping my payment by $20 a month, but not sure if having that "little" coverage is a smart idea.
Having little is definitely a bad idea. Shit happens...and you definitely want to be covered just in case you get shit on you. You're plan looks close to mine, I think I have a bit more in Liability than you, I just havent had time to look at it.

I know outside of USAA, progressive seems to have the best coverage all around. As soon as I get married in August and turn 25, my rates should fall to around $40-$50. Hopefully. I know my father right now pays about $50 a month for his and my mom's Prius.

Maybe getting old isn't such a bad thing:

39, married, clean record, State Farm, $500 deductible

My 2010 GTI $309/6 months
Wife's 2009 Jetta S $250ish/6 months

I'm sure it also helps that we have been with them for 20+ years and have 4 vehicles and our house insured with them.

Those of you complaining about rates have one thing in common: youth.

I would gladly pay more in insurance to have the health of youth.

I am with USAA. full coverage, $500 deductible, high limits (100K property; 1 mil liability)

no tickets in more than 5 years (GTI will change that .

One accident, not my fault (hit and run).

two cars:
2011 Subaru Outback, 2013 GTI Autobahn

subaru: $44 / month; GTI $53/month

State Farm - Wife and I on same policy, both cars, low mileage discount for hers, good driver for both, personal property/renters insurance, full coverage 250 deductibles, my GTI is $108 p/month and her new Tiguan is $82 p/mo. My agent told me the GTI is one of the most expensive cars to insure due to statistical accident rates, violations and # of claims per year/model etc.

As another poster commented, it all depends on where you live (and your age). I live in Oklahoma, 52 yrs old, spotless driving record with never a claim in 36 years of driving. I'm paying 1060.00/year with $500 deductable (State Farm Ins). Wifey's Turbo Sonata is about the same price also.

I have a fancy speeding ticket on my record, so I pay around $140/mo on the GTI, but only $46/mo on my Matrix. I also have renter's insurance bundled in as well (even though I hate bundles) to drive rates down along with a $1k deductible. I don't ever plan on using my insurance except major accidents though, since I would rather pay upfront than have my rates increased and pay extra over time.
