Question Problem after garage service

My mk6 gti has just had a routine service, oil, filters, plugs.
Before the service the oil temperature was running between 98c - 104c
Since the service it struggles to climb to 97c but then over a matter of a few yards it drops, sometimes even as low as 80c.
Has anyone come across this before or have any idea what has been damaged during the oil change?

Wont get much help from US based people as we dont have the option to see oil temp from factory. Maybe some of the other UK guys will be on and can chime in for ya.

With my Cobb AP i monitor engine temp, not sure if that's same as oil temp. It usually sits around 200F after 10 minutes of driving or so or 93-94C. On some drives it gets up to 220F(about 105C) , usually in traffic on summer days, and then will drop back down to about 94C within a minute of driving again when it opens up.

I will check when i drive home (now that it is about 60-70F ambient temp) The only time i see 80C(about 175F) is during the warm up period, or about first 5-10 minutes of driving. After Ive driven that i have never seen the Engine Temp monitor drop bellow 195-200F (90-93C) that i can think of.

This is likely due to the ambient temp at the moment in the UK, Iíve just been for a drive (outside temp2.5íC) and even at 100+ mph it didnít go over 99íC then as I let off It dropped back pretty quick into the late 80ís, itís fluctuating depending on how itís being driven! (In my case at least!) and fresh full oil will also help the engine keep cool.
