any good options for TSI coolant heater?

My car is NOT liking -10 degree startups. She BARELY gets warm after nearly 1/2 hour-45 minutes of driving! I gotta do something... i'd consider a stick on oil pan heater, but would fear melting the pan.

Anyone having some form of success with some sort of simple/cheapish kit? Care to share your experiences?

Not looking for a 'hey i'm all hot and ready to go daddy' thing just something to help the car not be sub zero when starting.

Thanks!

Why bother with a complex heater and additional coolant/electrical work...just get something like this to block off most of the grill.

I notice my needle will sometimes go down a little bit when it's very cold outside and I'm at a red light.

This morning, car reported -7F and it didn't warm up until I got to work, 25min later.

Doesnít VW sell a stick-on oil pan heater for these cars? Canít imagine it would melt the pan.

I put the VW inline coolant heater in mine. Wasnít cheap, but makes a big difference.

A winter cover to block the grill isnít going to do anything to help cold starts, but might help the car warm up faster and stay warm. Even if Iíve plugged my car in, it still takes a good bit of driving before it warms up.
