doing wiring for rear fog, without rear fog?

my oem led (lhd w/ rear fog light) shipped today, so I'm hoping maybe they will arrive next week. I should have some free time this weekend, so if I do the wiring for them this weekend (euro switch, trigger wire from pin #7, wire swap on cecms), would that cause any harm? I am thinking it would just make only the right reverse light work when in reverse, and make the left reverse light come on if the headlight switch was pulled out twice. I'm obviously not going to drive around with the "rear fog" on in the meantime, I'd just love to get the wiring out of the way this weekend so that the install will be even quicker when the tails arrive.

so do the wiring early, yay or nay?
