2013 Golf R
100% stock
91 octane
Did some data logs today to see what the car is running like. I plan on tuning the car myself with Eurodyne Maestro 7 so I'm starting to collect data logs on the car. I come from a different world. I tuned Mitsubishis for over a decade (stock to 700+hp builds) and bought the Golf recently and am planning on tuning it myself.
For the people that have logged the R stock, does this 3rd gear WOT log look somewhat normal to you?
My observations:
1. Car seems to run really rich for DI.
- Are low 11 to mid 10 AFRs normal? If so, lots of room for tuning here. If not, perhaps it has a boost leak...
2. Boost seems inline with what I have read for the car stock.
- 18.5 peak dropping to 13 psi up top. Lots of room for improvement here
3. Seems like a good amount of timing retard going on
- Cleaning this up and getting a better timing curve in there should make the car much better.
3rd gear , WOT:
3rd gear WOT, little bit of 4th WOT, showing timing retard logged:
