Release date Schedule for 2010 GTI (U.S.)

Well I've been in close contact with a local salesman who just emailed me today with this message:

"Just got the VW release date schedule for 2010 models. GTI build starts late August. Dealer inventories in early November."

So I guess it's safe to say that those guessing Early November were right, and those hoping for earlier than that are S.O.L.

Either way I'm glad to get something concrete. I've got even more time to save up for a bigger down payment.

All I can hope for now is that VW offers some great financing this winter, or a great lease offer.

hmm, so does this mean the GTI and the golf are being released at the same time

Yep, orders placed with specific options are expected the first week of November. But in the first week of October, the first batch which are the launch cars are expected. These cars are all optioned by VWoA with 1-2 cars automatically assigned to each dealer. Dealers in the Western Region and Central Region already have these launch cars assigned and ETA dealer delivery in the system shows as 9.28.2009! Basically first week in Oct.

Is this saying all 2-Doors will be manual, and all 2-Doors will be Cloth?

And what about Navigation?

Yes, the launch cars for first week of October all have thesame options and are automatically spec'd by VWoA for delivery. They are the first batch due to arrive and will be identical through all dealers. Only exterior color can be adjusted.
2door with manual and cloth.
OR
4door with DSG and leather.
Both have Xenon with 18" wheel package added. No navigation.

But, if you will be personalizing your options(e.g adding navigation or removing the xenon/18" wheel), the first set or personalized orders are due around the first week of November as your dealer indicated.
