FS: 2012 TR 4Dr GTI KO4 edition

Due to me preparing to depart the military and wanting to save a few extra dollars before I get out.... up for sale is my 2012 GTI. It is a four door and DSG auto. When I bought it new I had the windows tinted to 20% and I had the 3M clear tape put on the hood and mirrors. It currently has 24,000 miles. All performance modifications were installed at approximately 11,0000 miles. The only things I installed have been led interior lights, auto headlight switch and the p3 gauge. Everything else was installed at DBC tuning in San Antonio. Oil has been changed every 5,000 miles. I had the DSG fluid flushed at approximately 16,000 miles due to performance parts and ease of mind. There is one very minor rock chip above the 3M tape(might show in a picture). Love the car. But...family comes first. Mods are listed below.

Located in Northern California. Marysville, California

APR k04 turbo kit* $2649
APR Carbino Intake stage 1$ 325
SPM street exhaust $1300
SPM full mount kit $434
S3 intercooler $300
Autokey Led interior light and rear license plate lights $100
Headlight auto lights $100
P3 gauge $479
Neuspeed throttle body tube $169
Neuspeed K04 tube $200
Audi R8 coils
Brand new continental extreme contacts DW intalled on 08 Feb 2014.

I'm asking $19,500. New tires with less than 3000 miles.

So...one of my rear tires has a rip in it on the side wall and somehow two more wheels got jacked up. That being said I'm lowering my price to $24,000 and I can either buy two new tires to put on here or I will lower the price to 23,600. Buyer's choice. Will have wheel damage up today.

Question for everyone. What is a good price for my car? Is it overpriced or is everyone not in the market right now due to winter?

I think you are asking too much for the car. Best thing to do is part it out, and put it back to stock. Most people do not pay more for mods, although it can happen. I like how that car looks so stock...ultimate sleeper. GLWS p.s. for that kind of money it should have 4 new or like new tires

The new tires can be put into the equation. not going to part it out though. It's a clean car.

Trade In: $16,625
Private Party: $17,936
Dealer Retail: $18,925

You are priced too high (and I generously gave you "clean" for the condition despite the mods).

Mods do not increase the value of a car; they decrease it. At best, if you want to sell it modded instead of parting out, you can probably get the Dealer Retail price but it may take a while...

This. Personally the wheel spacers would make me not even consider it, but that's just me.

When I sold my STI I got higher offers once I had returned it to stock. It was a win win really, got money for the mods and more money for the car.

I appreciate the honesty. I do however feel that most would see an extremely nice and well taken care of adult car. If someone wants to pay base price for a car with $7000 worth of reliable power adding parts the they should elsewhere. Hopefully a few people wouldn't want to get ripped off by a dealer and would rather purchase my car. Who knows. I am going to look into some tires today and will see what I can lower the price to. If I have to hold on To it I will.

Thanks for everyone's honest input. I will take more advice and even some recommendation on tires.

Translation:
Dealer would offer you $12,500 as a trade.
Carmax would offer you $14-15,000
Parting out, then selling it a stock would make most of financial sense.

GLWS to the OP!

You might have better luck on Craigslist. I sold my modded MK5 a few years back for a very good price. A nice military guy from Edward AFB got it. I don't think there is a winter problem in California, plus is tax return time is here as well. Try posting it in SoCal Craigslist. Watch out for people from Nigeria.

I agree you should lower the price a tad. It's nice it's K04 but at 24k you are dangerously close to a new GTI, You might be better luck trying to find someone who are willing to swap all your performance parts for stock as a whole package.

Good luck.

The translation above is so true. My TDI trade in was painful.
