Proper Shift Points for the 2012 R?

Hello Fellow Golf R Owners!

Quick question? What are the proper shift points when trying to achieve maximum horse power / torque / speed? I've been taking the RPM's to around just right at the red line and then I shift. I try to do this for every gear when I'm racing. I don't want to hurt the engine though so I'm wondering what is recommended?

Watch your boost gauge, when it plateaus it's probably time to shift. It's a little different for each gear but approximately around 5k on the standard tune. If you're running a tune, the FA mix and boost are what's modified, but same principle, when you're popping off excess boost it's time to shift.....

Don't have a boost gauge, get one of these https://www.amazon.com/Hikeren-Blue...=OBD2,Hikeren+MINI+Bluetooth+OBD2+OBDII&psc=1
and download Torque Pro onto your phone, total costs about $17.

Using a similar approach to the engineering explained approach for my 2012 Golf R on oem diameter tires you can see the optimal shift point rpm in the charts in link below(for quarter mile): The legend is as follows: yellow=3rd to 5th shift and purple=3rd to 4th shift (quarter mile times shown are assuming no shift time)

For tq & hp details refer to 100oct dyno plots: http://www.performancebyie.com/ie-mk6-golf-r-high-performance-software-ecu-tuning

fyi, if you had safe conditions and were to pull thru 5th gear, the 4th to 5th shift would be 6300rpm...and if your gonna pull thru 6th.....just don't:) be responsible:)
