Clean PCV valve? Or just replace?

I did try to research before posting......... :iono:

I only found threads on replacing the PCV, not cleaning. Is this possible on these cars? I remember working on old mk1s etc. back in the day--you could clean them and put them back in. Yes, I know, completely different animal now.

i just replaced mine a few weeks ago. Not sure cleaning it would even do anything to be honest. You could replace the gasket.

these PCV's are so damn expensive...i found this one on ebay, i know it comes from china, but then again majority of the parts if not ALL are built there anyways and this one is pretty fair price

I think the valve is what fails--so I don't think it's a matter of cleaning them. Unless its for maintenance or something.
