2011 GTI won't start?!?

Hey guys, so I had a really strange day today, my car was working perfectly fine the whole day until it wouldn't start anymore. Every time i would try to turn the key to start it, it would make a lot of loud weird noise. Also my check engine light went on and EPC light. And also it said check engine service now.

I had to get home so i push started my car and it turned on but my engine was making some weird noise for like a minute (like it was my timing chain but idk) but my EPC light was still on when i was driving home but no check engine light.

Any thoughts guys what could of cause this? Do i need a new starter?

Most likely timing chain tensioner went "EXPLODE BANG CRASH"

If this is what it is, I'm sorry man, can be catastrophic and very expensive to fix. Good luck. Also do not drive it or even try to start it any further if this is what it is it will cause more damage.

Why in the world would you push start it when it would not start on its own!!!??? Worse comes to worse you need a new top end maybe pistons if they smashed hard enough off the valves.

Or we could all be wrong and you have some mystery disease under the hood.
