Late to the party here but thought i would give my input (though it may not be wanted).
17 year old kids racing at 130 mph on local roads, through an intersection even. Real smart.
Agreed... going triple digits on streets that have intersections (regardless of time of day) is dangerous for other drivers
Ugh, you ruin the car scene for the rest of us. #thanksmillenials

As a 32 year old millenial (was told i made the cut since my bday is '84) I resemble that remark...
The reason was speed. Don't be naive. Just like Paul Walker died because of speed. Tires were a factor in that incidence, but the reason for the crash was because of speed and poor judgement. Yes people can die at legal speed limits, but your chances of a fatal accident increase exponentially as speed increases. TAKE IT TO THE TRACK. NOBODY IS IMPRESSED BY YOUR VIDEOS OF DOING PULLS ON THE STREET!
Not that I think youre wrong I think youre over-emphasizing one variable in that crash while downplaying others. Properly sized and quality tires with a better contact patch and he would probably still be alive; might even have posted in this forum where we would be telling him not to do it on public roads with intersections...
How many scene points were awarded for this race? I've been looking to get my cred up.

Have you tried vaping?? :iono:
The people who are expressing the safety concerns aren't wrong, they're just doing it in the typical "internet tough guy" way that's completely not effective at convincing people to change their ways.
Putting myself back in my early to mid 20's with a fast vehicle.... if you talk to me like that you're just getting ignored. Maybe the angry people in here were more receptive to being talked to like that, but I wasn't.
Want to make an actual difference? Teach people how to evaluate and mitigate risk. Show people how to enjoy their vehicles in a way that minimizes, or eliminates risk to others.
Not trying to blow smoke but this is the best response ive seen in this thread.
People speed... people who tune cars speed often. You can talk tough to young kids all you want it wont change anything. The best thing to do is stress "Time and Place." Show how to manage speed and as said above minimize risk to other drivers.
Also just how to be a responsible driver... Im more worried about people passing on the right or splitting lanes in LA than I am about people doing over 100mph
@WeekendWarriorz I just want to know why you young guys don't drag race like men? these fwy pulls are fucking lame, when I was racing cars in high school we did proper drag races.
because these cars were never designed for trap speeds in a 1/4 mile...
real test of these cars is an actual road track
