Hello everyone..deciding on an exhaust. seems like the top contenders are AWE & Eurojet. which one produces that throaty 5 cylinder sound without the drone, but also gives a mature screaming rumble.

AWE is really loud, but seems to have a resonator so drone should be reduced and here is a quote from their website:

"There is no interior drone at any rpms and sound volume (interior and exterior) is quite civilized."

Eurojet is going to be hard to find, their website is gone, they are now RevoTechnik and they doesn't seems to sell any 2.5 product on their website. When the eurojet website was still online, I tried to get an exhaust from them and they could't supply my order so they told me I could buy it at ModdedEuro, but I got an issue with shippment, so finally I ended up buying a TechtonicTuning Exhaust which sounds great ! If you are looking to get a exhaust from them, buy the version with 2 mufflers, it cost more, but it worth it !

Here is a sample of how it sound (single borla muffler):

I love my AWE exhaust. It really opens up the nice sound of the 5-cylinder, but on the loud side from the inside of the car. It only drones at a small rpm range around 2200, but otherwise the exhaust is quiet if you are cruising on the freeway (2012+ 5-speed does 65@2000rpm).

Why would you suggest 2 mufflers? Do you think your single is too loud?

Just an FYI, Eurojet is making the MK5/MK6 2.5L exhaust again, just went live about a week ago. Price: $549.00.

Link to the product on their cite - http://eurojetracing.com/exhausts/mk5mk6-25-golfrabbit-catback-exhaust

I have had an AWE exhaust on my 2.5L for about 10 months now. I ended up going to a local shop and having them weld on a resonator under the trunk. The stock exhaust has boxy muffler there - the AWE exhaust has nothing there. With the resonator, I still get the performance but it has taken away a lot of the noise and resonance.

I've also found keeping a few heavy moving blankets in the trunk also made a great difference - I have a project on the go to insulate around where the spare tire is to try and make the cabin a bit more sound proof there.

I'm a bit stingy with money, and like the Eurojet because of its price. you'd be paying at least a $100 more for the AWE, and still having to add something/modify it to make it what you want. Knowing that, id definitely want to get the cheaper one, and modify that if needed. then id be out less money in the end. Just my opinion... Thoughts?

Although, now its $649, which is a little too high of a price in my opinion. Back when they used to make it (previous production run I guess) others were selling it at $500, and even found a site that had it listed for $450... man if only I could get it for $450... that'd be nice.

EDIT: with that being said, if anyone has ANY information regarding the Eurojet exhaust at a lower price, please say something when you find out. I will be happy to call and ask any company about that exhaust if you don't want to, just let me know who to call lol. I'm still on the hunt for this exhaust.

I bought it the same week they went back into production, price being the main reason. But after having it I would buy it again even with the new price, it's worth it

Alrighty bois, we might have a breakthrough!

So here is the Exhaust on the official site...

http://www.esetuning.com/eurojet-2-...-vw-golf-rabbit-mkv-mkvi-ej531-e20-01-01.html

Price: $649.00

And below is a site found that is actually selling it (from what I can tell)...

https://europrice.us/exhaust-package-eurojet-mk5-mk6-2-5-golf-rabbit-catback

Price: $549.00

And here... I might have found one for a steal... (let me know if this seems legit, cause I think I HAVE to buy it immediately if this is real.)

https://vagwerks-performance-and-co...ducts/mk5-mk6-2-5-golf-rabbit-catback-exhaust

Price: $460.00

And then we get to the sites that have it listed as "unavailable..."

http://www.esetuning.com/eurojet-2-...-vw-golf-rabbit-mkv-mkvi-ej531-e20-01-01.html

Price: $654.55

https://www.moddedeuros.com/products/eurojet-2-5-cat-back-exhaust-25l

Price: $449.10

So about that "breakthough"

https://vagwerks-performance-and-co...ducts/mk5-mk6-2-5-golf-rabbit-catback-exhaust

Price: $460.00

Ok... Update on the price here, currently waiting to hear back from Vagwerks about it, I called and they said their site is a little dated... and that they probably cant honor that price anymore. The guy I spoke to said he would call (Eurojet I presume) and see what kind of a deal he could get on it. Will update with an edit once I hear back.

Price: WAS $549.00 NOW $649.00

Another update on this price here... I reached out to them and said that they see that Eurojet has raised the price on the item, so they were willing to offer me the exhaust at the same price ($649), but with free shipping (which they said was about a $70 dollar value). Still higher then I am comfortable with so I probably will not be getting it from them :( .

I still haven't heard back from Vagwerks, but its likely a similar story.

Now its $599.00. It ain't bad, but it ain't great either. 50 bucks cheaper is note-worthy though.
