Rough idle and engine light flashing on startup

Hi Guys, this morning I had a weird thing happen for the first time. I started the car and instantly it felt like something was wrong. The car was shaking and idling real rough, like it was about to shut off any second. Then my engine light started flashing. I then turned it off and back on, and it started fine. It was cold but not THAT cold, it was in my garage after all. Has anyone experienced this?

Sounds like it could be a bad coil pack or spark plug.

Check for codes. How many miles on your car?

Flashing CEL indicates misfires. How many miles on the car? Could be carbon build up if your plugs and coils are somewhat new.

The car has 70,000 miles. Spark plugs were changed back in March, but not sure about the coils as I bought the car used earlier in the year.

Another possibility, PCV system. Any strange noise from engine?

I just noticed that my boost gauge flutters under idle, which I think is my pcv. I have no codes, but I didn't the last time, just a lot of oil, which really isn't normal. The pcv often times will give few, or no symptoms at all.
