RNS 510 version?

I have searched and am now more confused! When I power the head unit on and hold down the SETUP button the version screen does not appear. I'm trying to get my RNS 510 to display the bluetooth controls and I'd also like to see what maps are currently installed. I did get a VAG cable when I bought the car but, I really don't think I "should" start playing with the cable with limited knowledge ! Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm wanting to manually update my own unit but as I can't access that menu either I'm going to have to remove the unit, assuming it has never been updated that should give some sort of indication as to which FW/map version is on it. If I had a cable though I'd give it a go myself, after a ton of reading that is.

You need to enable the Secret Menu using VCDS.

In VCDS, click Select Control Module

-Then click 37-Navigation

-Click Adaption

-Channel 50 will have a value of 0, change it to 1.

This enables Developmental Mode, which is the secret menu.

Save and exit VCDS.

Reboot RNS and you will then be able to access menu

Thank you. And if I'm reading and understanding correctly I need a newer Bluetooth module to accomplish being able to control my Bluetooth device via the head unit.
