Ford just announced the new focus Rs, be sold globally. I think this is a serious contender to those with Golf R

2016 RS will have all-wheel drive, and 315hp? and 320tq? woah.

This might be my trade-up car from current '13 mk6 platform.

Im sold on focus rs. Real torque vectoring rear differential, not that fake braked biased crap..

Focus rs pricing is intended to be right between the Golf R and STI so it's price point "should" be competitive.

I want to see this matchup too, but the more I think about it, I get the feeling it'll be the same as always:

- Golf R (insert R32 here) for superior interior
- Focus RS (insert Evo here) for performance/handling/fun

focus rs looks promising for sure. but ford is always gonna be a ford(shit quality) torque and hp wont make me do a switch from a golf r.dat interior tho lol.

what if the r400 goes into production?

You also have to consider that most likely ford will do a very limited run with the Focus rs so, more than likely they will mark them up and idiots will be more than happy to pay 40k if not more for them. That is my theory lol.

The RS is nice but I would take the interior (and exterior styling) of the Golf R any day.

True, those Ecoboost found in the Mustang / ST & this RS share some internals ( think the block too) with the Mazda engine from the time of the Mazdaspeed 6.
