235/35/19 tire with a ET 40 / 19x8.5 rim be possible with coilovers ? On Springs and shocks currently and don't rub unless I have max people in the car..
Just rolled the fenders this weekend to prepare me for the coils.. looking for a 1.75 drop with stifness from the coils..
my question is; will 235/35/19 still be plausible or would I have to move over to a 225..only reason why I haven't is due to the stretch look..not looking for a slammed look either...
Thanks

Evening gang - I am looking at a set of lightweight wheels, 17*7 ET40. I am on DG springs and bilstein B8s. Im thinking of putting on 225/45/17. Any issues with this fitment or is this just right?

You could do 17x8 or 17x9 with a 245/40/17 and then just do the fender screw mod and you wont rub. Plus it will look great where as the 17x7 et40 will tuck into the wheel well almost as much as stock wheels.

Would 18x8.5 +40 work with 225/40/18 tires at roughly 25" FTG and rolled/slightly pulled front fenders? I currently have 18x8.5 +45 on 225/40/18 tires and wanted to see if I could go a bit more aggressive on my daily driven GTI.

Completely lost on wheel fitment here. What wheel offsets will sit close to flush (not poking) for an 225/40/18? Looking at BBS CH's for reference. Car is a 13 Golf R lowered an inch.

For the CH-R or the normal 18x8.5 45et will be flush with the fender or you can do 18x8 45et which its about a quarter of an inch further into the wheel well.
So 18x8.5 47et should sit in a tiny bit? Really don't want to run into rubbing issues. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-bbs-parts/18-ch-r-set-of-four/ch139tipokt/

And 18x8 50et will sit way in?

The 18x8.5 shouldn't rub and if it does rub its just on the fender screw which you can take out and push the tab into the liner and it stops all rubbing for that setup. My winter wheels are 18x8 45et with 225/40/18 and I think it just sits a little to much into the fender.

Np man, having the right set of wheels makes these cars so much nicer to look at.
Sucks the CH's only come in 18x8 50et. Really like them substantially more than the CH-R's. Would that setup just look ridiculous? How bad compared to stock?

Those looks the same it seems other than no lettering and not having the 5 holes drilled out. I'm personally not a fan of the CH/CH-R because to me the spokes look tiny. Did some digging so the stock golf r wheels are 18x7.5 et51 so the 18x8 et50 would only move towards the outside a hair over a quarter of an inch.
