TrueDelta has updated our reliability stats for the Jetta, Golf, Rabbit, and GTI based on owner experiences through September 30, 2012.

Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2012 GTI: 38, about average

2012 Jetta SW, Golf 2.5: 29, better than average, small sample size

2012 Jetta SW, Golf TDI: 16, better than average

2011 GTI: 36, about average on stricter recalibrated scale

2011 Jetta SW, Golf 2.5: 16, better than average, small sample size

2011 Jetta SW, Golf TDI: 38, about average

2010 GTI: 38, about average

2010 GLI: 18, better than average, very small sample size

2010 Jetta SW, Golf 2.5: 39, about average, small sample size

If it fixes an issue, why wouldn't it be a repair? Just because you don't use a wrench to fix it doesn't mean there wasn't a problem in the first place.


"Returned for routine maintentance and I was informed of a programming update for climate control"
"Glove box squeaks when opening"

These are the kinds of things that should not be logged.

The posts are still getting ridiculous on that site. They really need a severity tool to help out. The ratings on this site is horrible because of this. A wastegate rattle entry is considered the same as a blown clutch entry.

Not impressed with this site at all.
