TrueDelta has updated our reliability stats for the Jetta, Golf, Rabbit, and GTI based on owner experiences through September 30, 2012.

Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2012 GTI: 38, about average

2012 Jetta SW, Golf 2.5: 29, better than average, small sample size

2012 Jetta SW, Golf TDI: 16, better than average

2011 GTI: 36, about average on stricter recalibrated scale

2011 Jetta SW, Golf 2.5: 16, better than average, small sample size

2011 Jetta SW, Golf TDI: 38, about average

2010 GTI: 38, about average

2010 GLI: 18, better than average, very small sample size

2010 Jetta SW, Golf 2.5: 39, about average, small sample size

2010 Jetta sedan TDI: 32, better than average

2010 Jetta SW, Golf TDI: 46, about average

These are the kinds of things that should not be logged.

We've updated our reliability stats for the Golf and GTI to include owner experiences through March 31, 2013.

Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2013 GTI: 14, low, small sample size
2012 Golf 2.5: 44, moderate, small sample size
2012 Golf diesel: 22, low
2012 GTI: 35, moderate
2011 Golf 2.5: 19, low, very small sample size
2011 Golf diesel: 29, low
2011 GTI: 41, moderate
2010 Golf 2.5: 36, low, small sample size
2010 Golf diesel: 51, moderate
2010 GTI: 39, moderate

We have two additional statistics, "Nada-odds" and "Lemon-odds", to indicate the percentage of cars with no repairs in the past year and those that required 3+ trips to the repair shop:

2010 Golf diesel: 68, 4

The posts are still getting ridiculous on that site. They really need a severity tool to help out. The ratings on this site is horrible because of this. A wastegate rattle entry is considered the same as a blown clutch entry.

Not impressed with this site at all.
