7 Dollar in car camera mount

Saw this on the interwebs somewhere so decided to try it. I ordered a 6.95 ball mount. Looked around the garage for the rest:

A piece of scrap 2x2 cut to about 16in
A 1.5in x 1/4in screw to hold the ball mount in place

Drill 3 holes - 2 for the headrest - 1 for the 1/4 in screw
Used Electrical tape around headrest tubing to create a snug fit.
I am going to my first track event with the car this weekend so I wanted to slap something together and it works well and takes 5 min to make. I will add some black paint to make it look better.

I have a similar setup. Only problem is reclining seats. They must be exact. But for the price and ease, you really cannot beat it.

Here is some sample footage from yesterday and the reason I built the camera mount. Unfortunately I left sound setting on full rather than auto adjust so the wind noise is crazy but I think the footage came out ok. I was driving the little GTI pretty hard and I think the footage came out ok for 7 bux. By having it mounted on a single seat you do retain the ability to use the seat to adjust the height of the camera and pushing the seat forward gives you a little better view of things.
