No but really, what I'm going to say is very cliché but there's is really NO best method to be good at photography.
Read around the internet, magazines,etc... for the basics, so that you can know what you're doing with your DSLR, then it's really about taking pictures.
PLay around with your settings to see what they do (F stop, ISO, Shutter speed, White Balance, etc.), experiment. Then, go ahead and open them in Photoshop and enjoy!
Then if you feel like it, you could even learn about Lighting (i.e. the different colours of light ---Tungsten, Daylight, Shade...), the pictures' Histogram, Adobe Lightroom, and so forth!
