k04 mk6 vs Golf R shifter! no vid

So.. crusing along and I see my car but an R version merging onto the freeway.

I get on it and see him roll on as well. I just kept on and passed with ease unsure if he was really trying. We pulled up to the light lined up perfectly.

Long story longer, I pulled away from launch and kept going. I slowed down and rolled my windows to say hi, love the R.

The R driver pulls up with his entire shift knob/boot/ring in his hand and says. JUST HAPPEND MAN :*(

Just want to throw out the oh shit sorry man! if you are on the boards. BUT DAAMN that must have been one angry shift! I really wanted to test my build vs an R, next time I suppose.

:lol: that's excellent. I could see how the shift knob could fall off - it's just some plastic sleeve held onto a burl on a metal shaft with a ring. If the ring were loose I could see it just slipping off.

i had a friend on the forums that happened the same thing in his Golf R.
