Configure the car you want and you will get a list of at least a few dealerships that "guarantee" you a certain price. Either wait for one of the dealerships to contact you (happens within minutes), or take the print-out to the dealership, and mention that if they don't honor the price, so-and-so dealership WILL. I did get one internet sales specialist that was trying to bait-and-switch me for weeks even after I ordered the car through another, but overall you have good chances of getting the car you want for the price you want. Or, just visit one of the listed dealerships and work with them
Worst case they say no again.. then you tell them to get bent and walk
Destination is included in the zag.com prices. Otherwise you're unlikely to negotiate it off the price as it IS built-in and is one of the fees that you can't negotiate (easily).
Maybe the dealership isn't taking you serious or something....but it's all B.S.
You probably showed too much interest in the car (which happens) and so now they have you in the position of THEY have the car that you want and they'll sell it to you for whatever price because there aren't any others around and they know that you want it
It sucks....but try telling them that you're going to wait or go to a competitive dealer instead.
They'll try calling you again in a day or two, and maybe they'll budge on the price.
They should be asking you, "what do we have to do to earn your business or to do the deal?"
But it seems like they're being idiots :iono:
Just threaten to walk and cancel the deal...that'll change their minds
So from http://driveyourdream.zag.com none of the dealers have a 4dr white gti (let alone dsg with those options). those are both local and the outside area dealership (100miles away) it lists. know of another way to search?
Ugh Try going on vwvortex and asking one of the salesmen to see if they can find a satisfactory car for you
Just so you know, I'll tell you my deal.

wow! I'm hoping for a similar deal
I'm hoping you can get one. This is the last of the 2010's dealers do want to get rid of them. The only thing I regret is not getting the 18's... but whatever, every time I see my car, I pretty much fall in love all over again. :happyanim:
it just turned a month old on july 4th. I just have the 17 inch denver wheels, but I'm going to get something else eventually. I like the detroits, but I think I can find something I like even more once I save a few more bucks.
