Buying my first GTI.

Hi folks!

Here's the deal. I've picked up a new job that comes with a 45 mile commute. I only own a beater Z71 currently, and that ain't gonna cut it. I have 20,000 cash to spend. My buddy has a '12 model GTI that I've driven several times and I figured if I have to buy an "economy" car, why not buy something a little sporty and euro. Here is the link. I'm wondering what kind of price I should expect, what arguing points are there, and stuff like that. I like the car, but I like my money too.

Save the cash, do a finance deal or lease. With rates close to 0% in some instances (I did 0% 36 months on new 13 GTI) not pay to pay cash. You might even do better new than on your buddy's car. Look elsewhere: VW, Kia (Optima), Honda (Accord, Civic), Mazda (3, Miata) etc.
