DIY: Passat spindles and Boxter brakes(NSQBBK)

darkGTI

Ready to race!
Hey everyone,

So I'm doing an upgrade of my front suspension and decided to put in passat spindles and control arms along with SuperPro offset bushings and NSQBBK(Boxter 2001).

Yesterday we paired NSQBBK and passat spindle knuckle, it didn't really go as planned, since the bracket on the caliper was made for GTI spindle, and passat spindle is thicker. Had to grind a bit of spindle away, but in the end everything fit nicely.

Doesn't fit because of the bolts hitting the knuckle.

Grind away

Fits perfectly

Stay tuned for more, will be putting them on my car soon.

Thanks a lot for posting this. I got my car aligned yesterday and my camber on my front passenger side is .5 degrees higher than the other side, which is in spec at .9. I'm pretty sure either the control arm or spindle are slightly tweaked and need to be replaced as that corner seems to be a magnet for highway potholes. I wanted Boxster brakes, but if I'm going in there to replace the control arm and spindle I may as well install nicer parts. It's good to see that the Apikol brackets will fit.
