P0299 - Limp Mode - Whistle under load

Hey all,

So a little back story, searched and searched and searched, but can't seem to find any info on my particular case. I bought a 2011 GTI on Monday. On Saturday, I got a CEL light, thought it was simply the gas cap as I detailed inside the fuel door.

Get in the car on Sunday, and the car isn't making any boost, goes into limp mode and is making a crazy whistling sound under load.

Got in the car and it stalled twice right after I started it up. Advanced Auto was across the street so I got the code read P0299.

Tonight, I got under the car, took out the DV, it's a rev G with no visible wear/tears. Also opened to the oil cap to rule our a PCV valve.

I can't seem to find any leaks in the boost pipes either pre/post turbo.

Calling the dealership tomorrow to give them an ear full....

Just an update for anyone if you ever hear this noise down the road. Took the car into the dealership and it ended up being the turbo that was burned up.
