Check Engine P0172

Hi guys
I'm sorry if I'm not following the forum rules, but Im not sure where to post this question
I had my check engine turn on 2wce
first time 3 weeks ago and 2 days ago
Error code is P0172
Both times I turned of the check engine using vagcom

a friend told me there is a round part on top of the engine that should not be sucking in air.
I tested mine by putting some liquid and I can observe that it is sucking in air.

That is the PCV valve, if it's sucking in air through the relief valve you need to swap it for a new one,

The code P0172 though is referring to a different issue although they could be connected somehow?

Yep PCV valve. Grab a new one from Deutsche auto parts, but do NOT get the off brand one. I did that and it failed almost immediately. I bought and installed an OEM one and all error codes went away.

They're not too bad, about $130 from RealVW Parts
