Xenon out, where to start?

So I was switching out the bulbs on my gti,(OEM Bi-Xenon) the driver side connecter came into contact with the exposed fusebox terminal ,sparked and now when the bulb is inserted I get no light. I initially thought it may be a fuse but when I changed the fuses I got the same result. Blinker still functions and I get a "Check Left Low Beam" error code . I'm not sure where to start, or if I should be looking into the ignitor, ballast, or something else. Really puzzled , thanks in advance for any help!

Always start at the fuse and work your way up from there.

There is a separate fuse for each side, they're under the bonnet/hood, one is a small fuse and one is large.
