ATTN: Car Audio Guys, Check this Out: Sound Ordinance B-8PT - Good Option?

Thinking of this as an alternative to a Bazooka. I know a Stealth Box would be ideal but I barely care about car audio and if the stock system were just a little better, or if Id gotten Dynaudio option, Id be fine with it and wouldn't spend the extra money. Just want a little more bass for cheap. I recently got the Bazooka 8" 50w enclosure but am thinking of taking advantage of the Crutchfield 60 day money back guarantee and returning it to get this instead:

Looks like it would fit under one of the seats or, if put in hatch, would be way more discreet than the Bazooka. After getting the Bazooka I started feeling like a moron, faced with the prospect of being a 34 year old man with a Bazooka in my hatchback. Like, "dude, what the hell are you doing?" Just reminds me of like, high school or something and guys blasting 2 Live Crew in their lowered Ford Escort.. and I think it'll take up much needed hatchback space.. If I tried to wedge it on the floor of the back (2 door), whoever was sitting there would be screwed.

Anyone have any experience with these? Seems like the same principle as the Bazooka in that I could just use it with the stock system and that install would be fairly easy. Maybe the Bazooka has better bass but I don't really care. Just want a little more low end punch with the stock system without spending much money and having it be as subtle as possible.

On a side note, any guys over 30 who have gone the Bazooka route? Do you feel ashamed of yourself? Am I tripping out?

Thanks!

Honestly, I've never been a fan of these prefab packages. Its like the In-car dvd system that velcros to the back of the headrests, just gross. An uber stealth box shouldnt cost you too much, but if it does just go with a decent 8" or 10" sub in a sealed box with a cheap mono amp hooked up to it. Something from Kicker comes to mind, wont cost you a bundle and will get the job done without being too much for the stock door speakers.

I was looking pretty seriously at this option - it has great reviews...but it would still be a compromise and take up hatch space. I ended up going with an uber-stealth box, which ended up costing a bit more (the box is actually a little less than the SO system you are looking at), but you then have to buy a sub and amp. The Sound Ordinance should be a good option for you for what you want - there are also a few other powered subs out there in the same size range, but a little cheaper also.

I hate bazookas and yes would make me feel 16 again! (I'm 30).. I wen with the uber stealth under the floor inthe hatch with a 10" shallow in it and that tiny Rockford amp. GREAT setup and 100% stealth. Win win!

Well I think that's a great price and seems to have a decent amount of power if it is truly 120watts RMS.

I don't think that will fit under the seat. Even my JL250-1 amp didn't. I seriously doubt that sub will. It will be hard trying to "hide it" completely but maybe mounting it against the back seat would allow for the best usage of space.
At $160+$40 wiring kit plus $30 line output converter. You can't get any cheaper than that.

Thanks for the replies guys. Dropped off the Bazooka new in box to UPS today to go back and Crutchfield is issuing me a credit. As soon as they do I'm ordering the Sound Ordinance. I'm certain the stealth box would be quite a bit better, but at least $300+ more & money is tight so hopefully this will suit my needs. Its so small I should be able to put it somewhere sleek and have a decent stereo at that point. Once its all done I'll post pics

I am liking this. I have not considered adding a subwoofer before, but for $160 I may. Please let us know how you like it. How hard is it to install. I am electronic illiterate!
