Golf R bumper conversion

demon342

Ready to race!
I have a 2011 GTI and want the ass end of a Golf R. I don't care what anyone says I like the tails, diffuser, and bumper a whole lot better than the GTI look. And seriously who doesn't like that custom dual center exhaust? Either way I'm hoping to get this conversion kit from ecs:

And was wondering if anyone here has gotten one before and if so how much of a pain is it to install? Is it something like a novice like me could install or should I bring it to a professional? I understand I will need my exhaust altered. THANKS

It won't be bad. No Fab work required to my knowledge; should just be a swap minus the catback. The bumpers held on by clips screws and a few brackets that probably need to be swapped i would imagine it's all in the kit

Remus sells a kit that comes with the exhaust and the valence. It uses the oem bumper.

i'd probably do it just don't feel like paying for paint, new exhaust yadda yadda... turns into a $2000 ordeal real fast

Why not just by the golf r diffuser that maxton design sells that fits the gti bumper. Even Rdx race designs makes one that fits the gti bumper also.

Would a turbo back exhaust system for a Golf R fit a GTI? of course fitting the bumper would be done as well as the exhaust.

Turbo back from a golf r won't fit a gti it routes differently under the car compared to a gti turboback plus the downpipes are different.
