They have been in my garage for a while so i dont remember if they are front or rear. I think they are front though. And yes they were for my GTI

googled this below...
HB - 543 - F - .760
HB - Stands for Hawk Brake
543 - Stands for the shape of the pad
F - Stands for the compound of the pad
.760 - Stands for the thickness of the pad
