Bigger is better imo...but to calculate it correctly, it would help to know the cfm needs of the car to know the cfm capacity needed for the intake/filter.
Best bet is likely a filter right off the maf (non oiled) probably could do about a truck sized filter that way.
and 42dd if im not mistaken uses a bellmouthYou need to keep the MAF in the same location otherwise you'll run into a bunch of issue. If you want the most noise (as in BOV noise) and performance you'd want a "bell mouth/velocity stack" filter. Same style as the integrated engineering intake.
Ive always read that having a filter right on the MAF is a bad thing, as the maf need a semi straight flow of air to calculate how much is going into the engine. And putting a filter right on the end disrupts air flow.
necessary probably not does it shield heat.. probably.is the heat shield necessary?
Just added a velocity stack to my cold air intake. I'm going to add a heat shield b/c why not.
Is that the apexi set up?
what are the differences between the straight and a cone filter?
