Will I rub?

Right now I have the stock Detroit’s with stock pirellis, but what I was wondering is if I change my wheels to 18x8 instead of the stock 18x7.5 will I run worse than I already do? I’m on coil overs and rub my one fender on large bumps.

Are you really low? Most don't have an issue with that kind of wheel spec because it's not very aggressive. If you're really low then you're going to have problems no matter what. You can try the fender screw mod that works well for a lot of people.

What would you describe as really low? I have about a finger and a half gap between fender and tire

we need offset to better help you.

I'm on coil-overs, 18x8.5 et45. No rubbing at all.

I'm not sure how you're rubbing with the stock wheels/tires, since they should be tucked in, but if you truly are....you'll rub with any other setup

Typically though, 18x8 ET45 would be fine

This guy is only on springs & lower than your "finger and a half gap between fender and tire" AND has spacers, but isn't rubbing:

My cars pretty similar to that car I height. I also don’t rub on everyday driving just steep driveways and stuff like that.
