Hey guys,
Well I just picked this up yesterday! I previously had a 2004 Ford Focus... that some lady took it upon herself to total. I bought the Focus new and it only had 50k on the clock... and a whole truckload of parts. I loved the car. Unfortunately, it met its demise. I removed most of the stuff to resell, luckily. That should give me almost $3000 to play with when it comes to the Golf.
I was about to pull the trigger on a GTI, but had some recent financial things pop up and decided it was a better move to go with the golf.
I figured I'd post pics, because as of tomorrow this thing won't look the same.
-Immediate plans: The hubcaps are getting painted black tomorrow. I can't bear to look at the stock ones anymore. 15% window tint is getting done as well.
-Plans: I'm going to keep the car relatively tame. I'm currently looking for some wheels and tires... but there are so many options I want to find the perfect set. Other plans include suspension/exhaust/intake. Aside from that, the car will be left as-is. I blew the brains out of the Focus I had, and am looking for a car that will be much more civil for my commute.
The Golf (sorry for the crappy pics, iPhone):
And my Focus, in its hayday and afterwards :
Frame=bent
As it was laid to rest:
Other notes:
1) I know painting the hubcaps is ghetto. Please don't flame me for it. It'll look much better than stock though for the time being, while I scour to find some new wheels (either Huffs, Audi/Merc wheels, or something else. I'd really love some nice Kosei K1's but they're difficult to find).
2) I LOVE the 5-Cylinder. It has a good bit more "grunt" than my Focus did stock and I really enjoy it.
