Passed Driver's Ed
Hey guys!
I've wanted to do a color match for my GTI since the day I got my car. And finally, it's done!!!
The wheels I used is Avant Garde M540. It's refinished (powder coated) to Lucido white by AG. The center cap was powder coated to red to match the GTI's white and red color theme.
One note about the wheels, the wheels are awesome and so is Avant Garde. However, since AG cannot do the finishing in house, they have to let another shop do it and that brings some problems. According to AG, my wheels was sent to the finisher shortly after my order was placed. The ETA that AG gave me is around 3 weeks with shipping. However, after three weeks, the wheels were nowhere near finished. It turns out that the finisher didn't even touched by wheels after THREE WEEKS!!!!!!!!! As I said AG itself is awesome and they worked with me after this happened and finally, after almost 6 weeks, everything is ready for the install.
My conclusion is: if you like how AG wheels looks do't hesitate to get them cuz they have great customer service and they are willing to work with you on anything. However, if you want to get the wheels refinished, unless AG bring there refinishing in house, you are probably better off ordering the wheel from AG and get it refinished by your local shop.
FYI, the conclusion I got is not just from my experiences. My friend has a Focus ST and he ordered a set of M540 in Gold Bullion which is a hand polished stage 3 color finish. He waited 2 month for his wheels to arrive. here is a link to his post

Anyway, I am really happy with how everything came out. I also did a lug nuts conversion. for now the nuts is just normal black cone seat nuts. My next mod will probably be some fancy lug nuts but I'm surprised how good the black one looks for now.
I'll post my full mod list below. Here are some photos! some photos are by me and the others are shot by @anotherjun and @idyllic_pang . the yellow ST owner is @damonmeng
