New to Forums and Golf GTI need help with reverse camera

Hi,

I m new to forums and just bought golf gti.
looking at trying to to see if can install reverse camera to my car.
where do i start?
can anyone help?

i have done a fair bit of searching already and i did see that post before.
im more wondering if i get the camera and install it would it be as simple as install and plug and play or would i need to do vagcom programing?

You need to make sure your display can support it. Only the only the RNS 510 i believe will support the camera. Im not sure which are supported.

EDIT

Bruck, you have to vag com no matter what as the unit from the factory does not look for a signal. Once you vag com it, but before installing, you will see just a black screen with the words: "Is it safe to back up" but no signal.

oh i see i thought the RCD-510 would support the camera?
so only RNS-510 will support the camera then?

From what I've read some models of rcd have the input. May depend on factors such as region and year of manufacture model of radio etc. Others don't have it. Easiest way is to yank the thing out and see if it has the port.

i have taken the stereo out and i think it has the port on the back but im not sure.
it has a yellow port on ther back.
do i also need to do vagcom aswell?
how do i upload photo to show u?
I have golf gti mk6 2011 am im in australia.
