There’s no way VW release the software that ends up on these HU’s. All the versions I’ve seen online and personally are riddled with spelling mistakes, poor English and inconsistencies.

Saying that I’m grateful for the hacks and I’ve given up looking for perfection, 5515, C210 or whatever aliexpress sellers claim solves whatever problems they’ve read about here. They’re f*cking with us.

My advice is buy a no name 187B, 534, 5314, C180 and enjoy it.

I was going to purchase one of these from an Aliexpress vendor but after all of the shenanigans they have going on here on these forums I am just going to look for a no name version from an eBay vendor. If anyone has a link to a no name 534, 5314 C180 version that they have purchased in the past and is working basically flawlessly please let us know here.

You’ve got me on the hunt for the perfect USB lead now. I ended up going with a 30cm 90 degree cable. That’ll do me until I get round to soldering an output on the back.

Blocking IP would only work in certain scenarios and there are ways around it. However, I won’t mention them since the spammer is likely reading this thread.

Okay so I had the "post phone call audio bug" and it sounded more like the only the rear door speakers were working rather than just no bass, it sounds similar as the sub next to you isn't going I guess.

Can't confirm but if someone else has the same issue try a phone call while parked and then go sit in the back and front again.

I downloaded the file and I expanded the tar file, the poster forgot to re-name the folder in the zip and its the same one that crashed that one user's rcd330. It's slightly larger and has the mirrorlink folder whereas the other one didn't.

Anyone brave enough to try it?



EDITED - So it seems like the original post of another 5515 firmware was deleted / user banned. Sigh.

I made a copy of it in my Google Drive, in case anyone wants to download it. I've not tried it myself.

So ive been reading and trying to figure out what version to get here. between the following two the only difference I see is software and Bluetooth version correct?

I would steer well clear of that if I were you. It was posted by a sketchy user account named 'GtiGolf' - 1st post, no other posts since, and the original post removed or deleted.

They claimed they had tested it and linked photos taken of an RCD HU on a desk with large monitor in the background. Similar to this actually -https://youtu.be/pWMK3A17Zio?t=145

Any ideas who it could be or why they would want to maliciously sabotage other peoples HU's?
