Please contact our main importer, http://www.sportech.co.za/ to see if they have any sub dealers in your area!

Is the MKVI stage 1 directport or does it require soldering?

If it's directport, is there a handheld consumer unit in the future a-la hypertech power programmers?

for the US spec MK6, the ECU is programmed with the ECU removed from the car (no soldering).

Program switching requires NO external oldschool a-la oldtech power programmer. You do it through your cruise control stalk.

Just checking. Didn't want to get shafted if I were to turn it in on lease in 3 years.

Just had APR Stage 1 installed yesterday at NGP, Aberdeen MD. The guys at this shop are really good and helpful. I highly recommend them.

Hi Arin, i just purchased a new GTI afew days ago and wanna start modding..I was actually about to purchase a APR downpipe now but wanted to know if there will be a check engine light if i dont have the APR software done? After the downpipe my next mod will be APR software but i wanted to know if i can send the ECU to your Saudi dealers to get flashed since im based in Kuwait? and will the dealer pick up that i have software installed?

The saudi dealers will send your ECU to the US, you might as well do that yourself and save money and time, or actually drive to Saudi arabia, i have already called both dealers many times and tried many things, until i ended up sending my ECU to the US...

It took long time, i think it took 4 weeks for me!

The reason is that there was a problem with the customs in the US, they saw an electronic box with a high insurance price tag, coming from an arabian country under an arabian name, so they simply freaked out and decided not to let it through until APR send them few papers...it sat on their shelves for more than a week.

I think this got solved out now and APR know better how to handle this, so you shouldn't be worried about, just to be safe, make sure you have a car to use for a month, in worst case.
