Safe to Drive under Limp Mode?

Is it safe to drive under limp mode for a long period of time?

HPFP went (I'm pretty sure) and the dealer won't change it - saying it's the ECU (not paying 3k for a new one...)

Umm... Well what exactly are you trying to do and how far do you want to drive?

Limp mode is a safety precaution to protect the engine from damage. It's perfectly safe to drive in limp mode. It's not ideal (other than for the obvious reasons) because it's good to full throttle your engine every once in awhile, otherwise gunk builds up.

What are your symptoms that makes you think its your hpfp and not and ecu like the dealer says? It's possible that the ecu was damaged during reflash by your apr dealer, it's not common but it happens.

But to answer your question, driving in limp mode is not recommended but it is 'ok' to drive it to limp it to the dealer (or home in your case) but I would not drive it on a daily basis in limp mode.
