so im looking for some new wheels to get for my 11 gti and i was wondering whats the best set up for wheel sizes and everything to get the best look and fitment on a stock suspension set up without it looking dumb.

18 x 8.5 et45

alright cause right now im looking at buying a set that 18x8 et42 so its right around there.

This. You can go bigger if you really want (I think I saw some guy on here with 20's?) but it would be purely for style reasons and would result in a shittier ride and if you go super big, would probably require some custom work to get them to fit.

18 x 8.5 et45 is pretty much perfect for these cars.
