i will be leasing a '13 DE soon and was wondering if i can upgrade the sound system without voiding any lease rules. if i can, i am interested in bang for buck upgrade not a massive overhaul.

Uber Stealth 10" shallow mount sub and box from nik on this forum. Amazing sound and takes up zero space. Pair it with the stock headunit/speakers up front and you will be very surprised. No lease voided.

Sub is all you really need (IMO). I have the ubserstealth box as well and love it. But if you aren't worried about saving space you have a ton of options.

Depends on how big you wanna go. I spent about $300 for my sub/amp (300W 10"), plus nik's box ($200 more), LOC ($80), and add a wiring kit ($30 or so? I forget). I think $650 is a decent assumption for materials. I have no clue on labor for an install if you don't do it yourself.

I've got no personal experience with the non dynaudio systems, but if i recall correctly; people tend to think the low end is lacking with or without dynaudio. My $0.02.

You can do it even cheaper

Box - 200$
Amp - http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_45046_JVC-KS-AX5101D-KSAX5101D.html - $120, or if you are not afraid to go used, http://www.ebay.com/itm/SONY-XPLOD-...1103475?pt=Car_Amplifiers&hash=item1e7fad9df3 of 70$
Sub - http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_18211_Pioneer-TS-SW2501S4.html - 90$
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_23570_MB-Quart-RLP-254.html - 70$
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_69692_Clarion-WF2520.html - 70$

Both amps have high level inputs w/ auto on, so no need for a LOC

Wiring kit - http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_18352_Monster-Cable-MPC-P200-BAP200.html - 30$, and you can go even cheaper. Since you are using high level inputs, no need for RCA cables

So, for materials i say its $370 - $440, there are so many DIY's on installing this, no reason to pay an installer, but even if you did, it should be no more than 100$ - 150$

Ok, thanks.

I would hire an installer for that kind of job. As far as speakers go, its not worth swapping out something better? What brand are the stock speakers?

with a lease vehicle, i would advise against it, as you would have to drill out rivits, and fab up tweeter mounts. They make some plug and play setups but they cost alot, musually benifit from having an amp, and you still have to drill otu rivits to remove stock speakers. This would make going stock at the end of the lease more difficult
