Making room for sub in spare tire area

I posted this in the electronics area, but no response.

can what be removed? the foam or the actual metal? metal? terrible idea and would detroy the value of your car. the older GTI had emissions stuff in that metal rim, but the newer ones have it moved or something. There are plenty of custom GTI boxes available.

I agree with everyone else, don't take it out, not worth it! However, you could easily run the battery back there...
