CTS Turbo Downpipe review

Yeah that is ridiculous. My main concern was that O2 sensor but after some hammering away at the heat shield it clears it just barely. Also the OP bought from modded euros as did I and didn't have the cts logo on the midpipe section either which is strange. I love how it sounds and after a Chicago winter it still looks new at least.

I have a DP I bought nearly 2 years ago and it didn't have the CTS logo. I think it's something they started doing fairly recently, so it might have just been that they had an older one in stock.

Np, when I bought it I don't remember ever seeing anything about the logo back then. First time I saw it was within maybe the last 6 months or so. I think I'm right at least.

Seems like it was around the time they redesigned their intake.

Word, did you have any O2/heat shield clearance issues?

I saw this thread when I was looking at getting a Down Pipe. The owner of the shop I deal with has a good working relationship with CTS and strongly recommended them. I told him about the problem that was talked about in this thread, and when it arrived, it was evident that the pipe hangers had been re = re'd. I would assume CTS found out about this issue and fixed there stock on hand. The pipe sounds great with stock mufflers.

Bummer about the fitment issues. I've heard great things about cts. They have their catless downpipe on sale right now and my cat is fried so I was about to order it. Hopefully this isn't a recurring thing with them. Was eventually getting full cts turboback

CTS has an outraggeous restocking fee of 35% on returns- basically the profit they take on a sale- won't ever be buying their products again

I have been a long time lurker here. I was hesitant about this downpipe but I could not resist the free-shipping and recent sale from the cts site. So after owning the car for 7 years, I am going to stage 2. (Possibly screwed and will a clutch soon, oh well).

Anyways, just posting this for anyone interested at this downpipe and cannot find good information about the fitment. A local VAG specialist shop did the install for me. They had no complaints and everything went smoothly.

I have the catted version, because why not, matted to the stock catback, because I wanted oem+. I was wrong, this thing is loud for me. Sounds stock if you don't modulate the gas pedal aggressively but when gas pedal is around %50, it gets quite loud compared to stock. Bear in mind that, I am almost 40 so.. I think I might pick-up a resonator and get it installed at a muffler shop to tone it down a bit.

Long story short, I did not do the install myself, had no issues/complaints from the mechanic and it is loud (you decide if you like that or not)

Same experience here. Installer had no probs, liked working with CTS products in the past so when I suggested this because they were on sale when I bought it he said that'd be great. Been on since december with no issues at all. I also only did a downpipe (no catback). Noise is there when you want it, not when you don't. However, my current setup (CTS Intake + CTS dp) does sound louder than my previous setup on my mkvi gli (apr intake + apr dp). Could just be the single vs dual exhaust setup difference between the cars or the open air intake vs closed...
