I don't think so.

I checked into with both my MK6 GTI and R, no solution as of yet.

No tuners have made this an option yet. It is one many of us desire though.

I hate the thing telling me I should be in 6th gear at 35mph, that is nuts.

Any idea why ? is it like tuners don't want people to mess up with this and blow up their car ?...

My guess is because the shift notice is in a part of the ECU that is not easily accessible.

Seems like most people don't pay attention to the indicator anyway.

I'm woindering if this upshift/downshift indicator isn't for non-DSG Rs.
I live in HK like you and my R doesn't have it either. Even in manual mode.
