Mk6 GTI cost cutting

If I'm not mistaken it appears that the MkVI GTI front headlight assembly will have only the HID and a turn signal bulb? Comparing this with the current MkV which has the HID, High beam ("flash to pass"), turn signal, and city light. VW did say that the MkVI will be less expensive to manufacture, so I guess that this could be expected.

It may no longer have city lights because of the DRL "fog lights"??

Otherwise, the city lights would be legally required in EU, unless I'm wrong.

I really do buy into the logic of the cost-cutting, though. Want to bet if it has a "cooled" glove box like the first of the Mk V, until they pulled the feature?!

Then again, if they can keep the US price down........that's why I'm driving an '06 Civic Si these days. VW needs to be at near-Japanese cost-performance ratio.

And yes, I'm a VW loyalist.....as my name suggests.....but not when the $$ out of my wallet no longer make sense. You, too?

Even the basic S spec mk6 in the UK has a cooled glovebox :p

I don't know what you meen by city lights, if you meen them extra silly lights the mk5 has for the american market then they are not needed in Europe.
